The Transformative Vertical Flight 2022 meeting will take place Jan. 25-27, 2022 in San Jose, California, with an “air taxi” aircraft display on Friday, Jan. 28. The jam-packed meeting includes the following events:
Aeromechanics for Advanced Vertical Flight provides a forum for technical paper presentations on emerging aeromechanics challenges and solution methods for future vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, encompassing dynamics, aerodynamics, acoustics and flight mechanics.

9th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium includes invited presentations from leaders in this exciting field. This event is an excellent opportunity to learn about and discuss the latest advancements in eVTOL, and the challenges that still remain. Invited presentations from all areas of eVTOL will be discussed, from researchers and leaders in academia, industry and government agencies from around the globe. The Vertical Flight Society has been leading efforts in electric VTOL since 2014 and has a dedicated website on Electric VTOL News.
Air Taxi Aircraft Displays ($45) SOLD OUT: A special event will be held at the Hiller Aviation Museum at the San Carlos Airport on the morning (8:00 am – 12:00 pm) of Friday, Jan. 28. Buses will be shuttling attendees between the Doubletree Hotel and the Hiller Museum starting at 7:30 am. The last bus will depart from the museum at 1:00 pm. (There is no virtual component for this event.)
In addition to the vertical flight exhibits in the museum, VFS has arranged for the following displays of eVTOL aircraft and models:
Short Course on Electric VTOL Design will be held online only on Tuesday, Feb. 8 and Wed., Feb 9 in two half-day sessions. The cost of the course is US$400 ($100 for full-time students).
